Purpose before allocation.
Regalis develops investment strategies around defined objectives, eligible assets and a clear understanding of risk. Our fund management approach connects opportunity assessment, portfolio construction, oversight and investor communication.
REGALIS / Fund ManagementThe mandate is the foundation.
Every strategy starts with a mandate. It sets out what the portfolio may invest in, the outcomes it seeks and the boundaries within which the manager operates. This gives investors a reference point for understanding both the opportunity and the decisions made over time.
Our proposed operating model combines investment judgement with defined oversight. Opportunities are assessed for their commercial rationale, underlying risks and fit with the portfolio. Where external managers or specialist providers are involved, their role should be explained alongside the responsibilities retained by Regalis.
Investors should understand how their investment is valued, what information they receive and the conditions governing access to capital. Those matters belong alongside strategy and potential returns in every fund discussion.
Management across the investment life cycle
Define the strategy
Set the investment objective, eligible assets and decision boundaries before capital is committed. A mandate also needs a practical approach to liquidity, concentration and borrowing. These choices create a common reference point for the manager and investors, including the conditions that would justify a review.
Construct the portfolio
Assess new investments alongside existing exposures. Public equities, fixed income, private businesses, property and credit call for different analysis, but each allocation must earn its place through its contribution, cost and effect on portfolio flexibility. An attractive asset can still be an unsuitable addition to a particular mandate.
Maintain oversight
Review changes in underlying assets and the assumptions supporting them. Valuations, cash flows, external provider information and emerging exceptions need to inform both investment decisions and investor communication. A completed transaction begins a period of monitoring rather than closing the assessment process.

The people behind the structure.
A fund can involve several distinct responsibilities. Investment decisions may sit with a manager, while administration, asset custody, legal ownership or specialist valuation may be undertaken by separate parties. Understanding that arrangement is part of understanding the investment itself. Ask which entity performs each role and how information passes between them.
When exploring a Regalis strategy, request the proposed structure, the parties involved and the documents defining their responsibilities. Discuss how fees are charged, how potential conflicts are addressed and which decisions require additional approval. Confirm the basis of valuations and the arrangements governing access to capital. A clear operating framework makes the proposition easier to evaluate.
