Different assets. One coherent plan.
Regalis proposes diversified strategies that can combine public and private market exposures within an agreed mandate. Portfolio construction considers the way assets behave together, the capital they require and the liquidity they offer.
REGALIS / Diversified InvestmentsDiversification needs an underlying reason.
Diversification begins with understanding the drivers of each investment. Several holdings can still depend on the same property market, economic sector or refinancing environment. We consider the relationships between exposures as well as the number of investments held.
Public market investments may provide market access and liquidity, while private investments can involve longer holding periods and more limited exit options. Combining them requires deliberate decisions about how much flexibility the portfolio needs.
The proposed allocation should be explained in the context of its mandate. Investors should be able to understand the role of each component, the costs involved and the circumstances that may lead to changes.
A portfolio built from distinct roles
Liquid foundations
Cash and suitable fixed income can help meet planned commitments and preserve the ability to act. Listed Australian and international equities add business ownership and market exposure, with attention to valuation, currency and the concentration embedded in an index or manager. Liquidity and diversification are separate portfolio considerations.
Private market participation
Private credit, property ownership and private equity can introduce different cash flows and commercial opportunities. Their contribution needs to be weighed against limited price transparency, longer holding periods and the possibility that capital remains committed beyond an expected exit. Commitment pacing matters alongside initial allocation.
Real assets and alternatives
Infrastructure, renewable energy and other permitted assets can broaden the investment universe. Their actual characteristics matter more than the category: revenues may depend on contracts, regulation, operating performance, financing conditions or underlying asset prices. Each investment should have a defined role within the overall plan.

Look through the holdings.
A family with a business, several investment properties and mortgage investments may have more assets than independent sources of risk. A change in domestic credit conditions could affect the business, property values and borrower repayment at the same time. Portfolio construction should recognise that connection rather than count the number of holdings.
We consider allocation with attention to both resilience and usability. This includes how future cash needs are funded, how private commitments are paced and when a portfolio should be rebalanced. The resulting mix is explained through the purpose of each component. Different assets may still fall together in difficult markets, so the plan also needs capacity to absorb uncertainty.
